This morning we spent in our room working. Evan hasn't been feeling well so your prayers would be greatly appreciated! We're both still dealing with some jet-lag. One benefit of travelling exactly 12 time zones is that you don't have to adjust your watch.
We got a rather lovely surprise here... Two of our good friends from the Philippines are also staying at this guest house! While Evan was resting this afternoon, we walked over to Lumphini Park.
Lumphini Park is often referred to as an oasis in the midst of the fast-paced Bangkok. You can see skyscrapers in almost every direction! And yet, it is quiet but for the crows. It is know for its birds, monitor lizards and squirrels. There are multiple lakes and gazebos. It's a great place for a picnic or an early morning run. (Ha! I don't do early mornings...)
Oases are important. Retreat within chaos. Sometimes one must step away from a situation to better deal with it but sometimes one can find calm in the centre of a storm. This patch of natural beauty is so refreshing in the middle of such a cosmopolitan city.
